Dr. Sidney Stone Brown grew up in the northeast corner of the Blackfeet Nation of Montana. She is a member of the nation and currently works as the behavioral health director at Navajo Regional Behavioral Health Center.
At the age of 55, Dr. Stone Brown returned to school to earn her Doctorate of Psychology, and has since applied tribal perspective to psychology research. She has dedicated her life to helping people heal from substance abuse and to enhancing trauma-informed care.
Sidney is currently completing a postdoctoral four-step study as a screening tool for the Indigenous people worldview, enculturation promising practice leading to an evidence-based model of Native people.
